Part of the instructions for installing the upgraded version of the paypoint module involve overwriting the default checkout.thankyou.php file.

What happens when one runs an update to Virtuemart which includes changes to this file ?

Also, are there not other payment modules which also use this file ? How are they affected by the changes you've made to this file ?

I'm not so keen on replacing the default file with the one supplied, and I suspect there would be others who share my concerns. Is it possible perhaps to advise which lines of code relate to your changes, perhaps with some comments lines ?

qpidity,

At present with version 1.4 it does require an overwrite of checkout.thankyou and I can't confirm that it will affect other modules (PayPal e.t.c).

Obviously we'd recommend backing up the checkout.thankyou file before hand and then testing it thoroughly afterwards.

Have you thought of changing the file name to i.e checkout.paypoint1 and pointing the call back to that instead? In theory this should work.

Regards Virtuemart upgrading in the future. Too be honest the checkout.thankyou file I doubt will be changed. If it is we'll discuss that fact further on this forum and come up with a solution.

The new update (version 1.5) will stop using the checkout.thankyou and will use checkout.paypoint.

With reference to knowing which lines and placing comment tags in the file. I'll do that for the next update but in the mean time from line 28 downwards is the paypoint code.

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

I think I'd prefer the suggestion you mention, renaming the file to something like checkout.paypoint1.php and pointing to that instead. In my opinion I think it's better to keep the paypoint module files/code separate as it would make troubleshooting much simpler.

So my callback URL would look like:

yourdomain.co.uk/index.php?page=checkout...t1&option=com_vi
rtuemart

Correct ?

Regards the demo url (callback) you placed. That's correct.

PLEASE NOTE: if your copying and pasting from the manual there is a space (with the newline). Please make sure you don't copy that space into the callback option.

You are correct with keeping it seperate. It'd be a lot safer and easier (with updates). That's why we've got the future releases using the checkout.paypoint url. Also with the next one it'll be doing confirmation emails saying "payment recieved".

Hope this all helps
