Have an Easter Egg!

15th November 2011 Business, Company

No doubt some of you will already be aware of Google Easter Eggs but for those of you who aren’t, let me explain:

Google has always had a history of being an organization with a sense of humour, the notorious Google Doodle has been brightening up many peoples searches since the first one appeared in 1998 to celebrate the Burning Man Festival.

Google Easter Eggs take things one step further, a spokesman from Google said “Easter eggs are simply little fun surprises to be discovered by our users to make their Google experiences even more fun and put a smile on their face.”

Here are our top 5 Google Easter Eggs, try them out!

1.Do A Barrel Roll

Type “do a barrel roll” in to the search box and press “I’m Feeling Lucky” and watch as the whole screen spins round through 360 degrees. This also works if you type “Z or R twice” relating to the Nintendo game Star Fox 64 where you have to hit the Z or R buttons twice when Peppy Hare asks you to “do a barrel roll”.

2. Google Gravity

Type in “Google Gravity”, click on “I’m Feeling Lucky” and watch as everything falls to the bottom of the screen. You can still search as normal and the search results will also fall to the bottom of the screen. This was an invention Ricardo Cabello, an HTML5 programmer form Barcelona, also known as Mr.doob.

3. Epic Google

Type in “Epic Google”, hit the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button and Epic Google will load, the screen will then continue to get bigger and bigger.

4. Google Sphere

Also designed by Mr.doob, Google Sphere is an image search where evrything swirls around. Just type in “Google Sphere” and click on “I’m Feeling Lucky”.

5. Askew

Typing in “Askew” or “Tilt” will make the page slant to the right, this one is great for pulling an office prank!

For best results use Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari browsers, have fun!
